Job description:
John S. Swift Co., Inc. has an opportunity for a part-time and/or full-time Web Press Operator. We are looking for an experienced Cold Set Goss HV and Harris M1100 Press Operator to lead a dedicated group of press helpers. The press department prints a variety of telephone directories, park districts, and other web commercial print work. This position also works closely with Customer Service, Pre-Press, and our full in-house Bindery with Mailing Services.
This position would be for 1st shift – 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
Requirements:
Previous press experience with a background in cold set web production and a strong understanding of the offset printing process and web press operations.
Should have prior experience on multi-unit offset web presses.
Good mechanical aptitude and skills
Demonstration of professional conduct
Demonstration of cooperative behavior with co-workers
Capable of setting priorities and attention to detail
Can communicate orally both in person and on the phone
Can interact and remain focused while dealing with multiple objectives
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, and multiplication)
Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Bi-Lingual a plus – English and Spanish
